Raising kids and on the run
makin’ suppertime a memory come what may
in a house that’s 20 years along
unfinished, but our family’s strong.
And I hope not at too high a price to pay.

And me I managed my degree
I plied my trade but foolishly
I used more back than head to make my way.
Grandpa called me “Mr. Hard-Way Jones”
He called it right.  God rest his bones.
